After three weeks of play, we no longer have any undefeated teams. There are four teams (Boomers, Canadians, Defalco’s and Law & Orders) at the top of the standings with identical records of 3 wins and 1 loss. All teams, except for Crete-Ryan and Royal Oak, have played four games.
We had a large turnout this week at KS on The Keys for our first sponsored lunch. The food and conversation were both great. A big ‘Thank you’ to all captains for encouraging their players to come to lunch in support of one of our sponsors, and to Chris Fraser, our VP of Operations, for organizing the gathering. Plans are already in the works for our next sponsored lunch, which will likely be held near the end of June.
The Executive was surprised and disappointed to receive word a few days ago that the RA Centre diamonds will no longer be available on Tuesday, June 24. The rationale given by the RA Centre for bumping us from the diamonds that day is that it will require additional time to clean up following the Escapade Music Festival, which it is hosting June 20-22. We are working on a plan which will be finalized in a few days to move the June 24 games to Hampton Park on Tuesday, June 17. Since there are only two diamonds at Hampton Park, games would be scheduled there at 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 12 noon. We tried to book Carlington Park, which has three diamonds, but its diamonds are not available on June 17.
Please note that our games on Wednesday, June 25 will not be impacted.
