President’s Update – Week of August 25, 2025
• Regular Season Champions
Congratulations to Boomers, who finished with a record of 12 wins and 4 losses for a total of 24 points. They are our regular season champions and will receive the Churchill Seniors Club Trophy. Myers Orleans, with 22 points, will receive the Bern White Trophy for finishing the regular season as the runner up.
• Update on Nominations for Vacant Executive Positions
I am pleased to announce that John Parry has been acclaimed as Secretary for the next two years. Thank you, John for volunteering your time and talents.
The position of League President remains vacant.
• Playoffs Considerations
As our four-week playoff round robin begins, I would like to hi-light a few key considerations:
• As many of our teams have only 10 or 11 players, it is important that everyone makes a determined effort to show up for all playoff games. If you are unable to play a game, please let your captain know well ahead of time.
• Be aware that, in the interests of fair play and safety, all rules of play will be strictly enforced. Now is a good time to review our league rules, which can be found on our website under 2025 Rules.
• Playoffs inevitably bring out our competitive instincts; after all, we all want to win. However, please remember that ours is a non-competitive league which emphasizes participation, fairness, and good sportsmanship. When any of these key principles is compromised, nobody wins.
