How to Join

We ask all participants (scorekeepers, umpires and players) to register. The League is registered with, and provides basic liability insurance through Slo-Pitch Ontario. Your registration with the League helps to protect all of us.

BOnly returning players should include the player registration fee.
Cheques should be made out to:  Ottawa 60+ Slo-Pitch League

New players register but do not include the fee. Your payment will be made after they have been placed on a team.

Players returning from previous years have priority for registration. Some players do not return so there are openings for new players. These players are added in sequence as they register. Depending upon the number of new players, a waiting list may be created. During the season, some players drop out, in which case, players on the waiting list will be contacted.

Everyone is welcome to attend the League’s Opening Breakfast. That includes new players, spouses and everyone from past years. This is an ideal opportunity to meet other members and to receive more information on the coming season. The League subsidizes the Breakfast, but your fee must be paid in advance. Send your cheque to Bill Stinson at the address above. There will be no payments accepted at the door.

Before the season begins, we sometimes conduct a new player evaluation session. New players are evaluated so they can be assigned to a team according to their abilities, in an effort to balance the teams. Once the team lists have been compiled, the Team Captains will notify their players. New players who are not placed on a team will remain listed, awaiting the opportunity to play as spares or as replacements.

For more information about joining, please email the League or contact a member of the Executive.
